This course will aim to provide information on how students learn best, looking at student-centered, active, experiential, authentic, and challenging teaching in reading, writing, math, science and social studies.

Learning Outcomes

  •  Learn the seven structures of best practices.
  •  Read and discuss qualities in teaching math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. 
  •  Learn strategic thinking strategies and activities in best practices

Requirements of Participation

This Independent Study class is structured for five sessions of independent study.  Reading the text, accessing the websites and videos, and personal research will add to information on best practices.

Class assignments and activities are designed to enhance student education and develop skills in research, critical analysis, and academic writing.  An essay is required at the end of class.
